A and B are two rods of equal lengths and different materials. Temperatures of their two ends are Tâ and Tâ for each rod. Which condition must be satisfied so that the rate of heat flow becomes equal for both?

A and B are two rods with equal length and different material.

We know that , the rate of heat transfer by conduction is ΔQ/Δt =KAΔT/d

where K= the heat transfer coefficient of the material,

,A=cross-sectional area for flow of heat,

ΔT=temperature difference driving the heat transfer and

d = the distance between the two points

ΔQ, Δt, ΔT and d are same for the rod A and rod B

and so K and A which is heat transfer coefficient of the material and cross sectional area ,the product of both  K and A are same for both rods.
