Given info : A and B can do a job together in 7 days. A is 1 3/4 = 7/4 times as efficient as B.

To find : The same job can be done by A alone in ..

solution : a/c to question,

A is 7/4 times as efficient as B.

means, if A takes 4 days to complete a work, B will take 7 days to complete the same work.

so, if A takes x days, B will take 7x/4 days

now, A and B together complete a job in 7 days.

so, AB/(A + B) = 7

⇒x × 7x/4/(x + 7x/4) = 7

⇒7x/11 = 7

⇒x = 11

Therefore A takes 11 days to complete the work.
