A and B can do a peice of work in 6 days and 4 days resectively.A started the work;worked at it for 2 days and then was joined by B. find the total time taken to complete the work.

(2+x)/6 +x/4 =1

(4+2x+3x)/12=1

5x=12-4=8

x =8/5

A taken =2+8/5=18/5days

B taken=8/5days

total time taken=18/5+8/5=26/5days
