A and B can do a piece of work in 6 2/3 days and 5 days respectively. They work together for 2 days and then A leaves. In how many days after that B will complete the work alone?​

Answer:

Let B- work for -N- days after both A& B worked for 2- days.

So 2/6⅔+ (2+N)/5)= 1

So 6/20+ (8+4N)/20= 1

So 6 + 8+4N= 20

So 4N= 6

Therefore N= 6/4= 3/2 N=1½days.

B-completed the work after the combined work in 1½- days.

Check:

In total A- works for 2- days and B- works for 3½- days.

So 2/6⅔ + 3½/5

= 6/20 + 7/10

= 6/20+14/20= 1.
