Step-by-step explanation:

if A worked alone he can complete 1/4 in 2 days therefore whole work in 8 days

thus 1/8+1/B=1/6

1/B = 1/6-1/8

1/B=8-6/48

1/B=2/48

1/B=1/24

B=24

Answer:

A worked alone he can complete 1/4 in 2 days therefore whole work in 8 days

thus 1/8+1/B=1/6

1/B = 1/6-1/8

1/B=8-6/48

1/B=2/48

1/B=1/24

B=24

Now we know time taken to complete work is 24 days. Since according to question A have already complete the 1/4 of the work, We have to find out time it will take for B to complete it.

Let's assume work to be done 24:

so Left Work = Total Work - Completed Work(i.e. 1/4 of 24 = 6)

   Left Work. = 24 - 6

   Left Work = 18

  Since B take 24 days to complete work so 24/24 = 1

 So B work rate is 1 per day, B will complete work in

Rate of Work * work remaining = Time

i.e. 1 * 18  = 18 days

So answer is Option D.) 18 days
