A and B enter into a business as partners. As A runs the business, B offers him 18% of the
total profit or Rs.3500, apart from his share of the profit. A prefers to keep Rs.3500. Had he
accepted to keep 18% of the total profit, he would have got Rs.100 more. Find the total profit?

Answer:

the difference between taking 18% and taking 3500 is 100

therefore, 18% of total profit - 3500 = 100

18% of total = 3600

total = (3600/18) *100 = 20,000

so the total profit is 20,000
