The initial investment of B is Rs 40000

Solution:

Given that,

A and B enter into a partnership

A invests  Rs.32000 and also adds Rs.11000 after 4 months

B withdraws Rs.2000 at the end of 8 months

Let the initial investment of B be x

At  the end of the year, both received equal profits

Therefore,

(32000 \times 12 + 11000 \times 8) =x \times 8 + (x - 2000) \times 4\\\\472000=8x + 4x - 8000\\\\12x = 472000 + 8000\\\\12x = 480000\\\\x = \frac{480000}{12}\\\\x = 40000

Thus the initial investment of B is Rs 40000
