Answer:

here your answer..............

x = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

capitals:-

A = 50000

B = 60000

C = 70000

ratio of their profits 20 : 18 : 21

this is also written as 60 : 54 : 63

Here

clearly A invested his capital for

12 months

while each one of B and C invested his

capitals [ 12 - x ] months

we know that

profit = share × time

ATQ

60 : 54 : 63

=50000[12] : 60000[12-x] : 70000[12- x]

60 : 54 : 63 = 5 × 12 : 6×(12-x) : 7×(12-x)

60 : 54 : 63 = 60 : 72 - 6x : 84 - 7x

now compare we get

72 - 6x = 54 [OR] 84 -7x = 63

-6x=54-72

-6x = -18

x = 3
