As per 1st condition: (A + 100) = 0.75(B - 100)
This gives us the value of A = 0.75B - 175 -------------- (i)

As per the 2ns condition: (A - 100) = 0.40(B + 100)
This gives us the value of A = 0.40B + 140 -------------- (ii)

Equating (i) and (ii), we get B = 900
Inputting this value in (i), we get the value of A = 500

So originally, A had Rs. 500 and B had Rs. 900

Amount of Money with A = X
Amount of Money with B = Y

(X + 100) = 75/100 * (Y - 100)     => 3 Y - 4 X = 700         --(1)
(X - 100)  = 40/100 * (Y + 100)    => 5 X - 2 Y = 700       -- (2)

(1) * 2 + (2)*3  gives  7 X = 3500   => X = 500
Substituting in (1)   =>  Y = 2700/3 = 900
