Answer:

A had 16 oranges and B had 26 oranges.

Option (c) is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let A have x oranges and B have y oranges.

Now,

If A gives 2 oranges to B,

A will have (x - 2) oranges and B will have (y + 2) oranges.

Then, according to the Question,

A = (1/2)B {After giving 2 oranges}

(x - 2) = (1/2)(y - 2)

2(x - 2) = y + 2

2x - 4 = y + 2

2x - 4 + 2 = y

2x - 6 = y

y = 2x - 6 ----- 1

But,

according to the Question,

A's oranges = B's oranges - 10

x = (y - 10)

x + 10 = y

But from eq.1 we get,

x + 10 = 2x - 6

2x - x = 10 + 6

x = 16

The putting x = 16, in eq.1 we get

y = 2(16) - 6

y = 32 - 6

y = 26

Hence,

A had 16 oranges and B had 26 oranges.

Hope it helped and believing you understood it....All the best
