Answer:

total amount in 12months and 9 months

50000×12=600000

45000×9=405000

ratio of total amount

600000:405000

Given:

A's investment= ₹ 50000

B's investment =₹45000

Total profit earned=₹13400

To find:  B’s share of profit.

Solution:

Find the ratio of profit of obtained by A and B.

\[\begin{array}{l}\frac{{50000 \times 12}}{{45000 \times 9}} = \frac{{40}}{{27}}\\ \Rightarrow A's\,profit:B's\,profit = 40:27\end{array}\]

Find B’s share of profit.

B's share of profit\[ = \frac{{27}}{{\left( {27 + 40} \right)}} \times 13400\]

                            \[\begin{array}{l} = \frac{{27}}{{67}} \times 13400\\ = \frac{{361800}}{{67}}\end{array}\]

                            =₹ 5400

Hence, B's share of profit is ₹ 5400.
