let the profit be Rs 100

after paying to charity A's share = ( 95 × 3/5) = Rs 57

if A's share is Rs 57 , total profit = 100

if A's share is Rs 885 , total profit = ( 100 /57×855)= 1500

AvmnuSng: arjana...this sol is correct but, instead of taking 3/5 why don't u take 3P/5, and P is 95% of total profit, so that it can be treated as general sol.... thnx

Shares of A and B in profit also are in the ratio 3 : 2
Let the total profit be  Rs P.
Remaining profit after donation to Charity :  Rs (95% P) = 0.95 P

Share of A in remaining profit :  (0.95 P) * 3 / (3+ 2)
                       = 0.57 P  =  Rs 855

Hence P = Rs 855 / 0.57 = Rs 1500
