Given,

A and B shared a profit in the ratio 4:3

A invested for 1 year

To Find,

For how many months did B join the business =?

Solution,

We know that ratio if profit is equal to time they have invested.

Let the number of months for which B joined the business = x

12 /x = 4 / 3

By cross multiplying,

4x = 12 * 3

4x = 36

x = 36 / 4

x = 9

B joined the business for 9 months. That means B joined the business after 12 - 9 = 3 months.

Hence, after 3 months  B join the business.
