Answer:

D (covers in half hour by A ) = 40*1/2 = 20km

To cover this D , B will take = 20/30 = 2/3 hours = 40min.

so, B will reach at P after = 30+40 = 70 min . (Ans)

B will be late by 70 mins in total

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance = Speed * time

B got late and therefore they met at 5:30pm

=> Distnace Covered by A from point P  to the point where A & B Meet

=  40  * (30/60)

= 20 km

if B has to meet A at P only then B has to cover 20 km distance also

Time Taken by B to cover 20 km  =  20/30  = 2/3 hrs

= 2 * 60/3

= 40 Minutes

So B will Take 40 mins after 5:30PM

=> B will reach at 6:10PM

So B will be late by 70 mins in total
