Loss of A is Rs 400 if A and B started a business with capital Rs 2500 and Rs 2000 and after a year, there was a loss of Rs 720,

Given:

  • A's investment Rs 2500
  • B's Investment Rs 2000
  • Loos after a year Rs 720

To Find:

  • Loss of A

Solution:

Profit and loss are shared in ratio of investments

Step 1:

Find total investment

2500 + 2000  = 4500

Step 2:

Find Ratio of A

2500/4500 = 25/45

= 5/9

Step 3:

Calculate loss of A

(5/9) x 720

= 5 x 80

= 400

Correct option is  (b) Rs 400

Loss of A is Rs 400.
