Work done by A and B together = 1/12
Work done by A = 1/28
therefore,
Work done by B = 1/12 - 1/28
= (7 - 3)/84
= 4/84
= 1/21
Time taken by B to dig a trench = 21 days

Remember if u can complete half of your work in one day you will complete your whole work in 2 days similarly A can do 1/21 of his work in 1 day so he will complete the entire work in 21 days
