Answer :-

B alone can do the work in 84 days.

Step-by-step explanation :-

Given that,

A and B together can do a piece of work in 35 days and A's alone can do it in 60 days

Therefore,

( A + B )'s 1 day's work = 1/35, and A's 1 day work = 1/60 respectively.

A's 1 day's work = [( A + B )'s 1 day's work] - ( B's 1 day work )

= ( 1 / 35 - 1 / 60 )

= ( 12 - 7 ) / 420

= 5 / 420

= 1 / 84

Therefore, B alone can finish the work in 84 days.

Remember :-

If a person can complete a work in n days then, 1 day he does 1/n of work.

If a person can complete 1/n of a work in 1 day then, he requires n days to complete the work.
