The efficiency ratio of x and y is 3 : 4

Given: A and B together can do a work in 12 hours. A worked for 4 days and B completes the remaining work in 18 days.

To Find: Efficiency ratio of A and B?

Solution:

Let A can do x units of work in oneday and B- can do y units of work in one day.

We know that A and B can together complete the work, in 12 days or they can complete the work by A working for 4 days and B working for 18 days.

So, 12x + 12y = 4x + 18y

8x = 6y

x/y= 6/8= 3/4

x : y = 3: 4

Therefore, the efficiency ratio of x and y is 3 : 4
