A takes 12 days to eat 60 candies. ie, A eats 5 candies per day. Similarly, B eats 4 candies per day. Together they eat 9 candies per day.

They work together for 4 days. ie, 4 x 9 = 36 candies. Now 24 candies are left. These 24 candies have to be eaten by A only.

A eats 5 candies per day. So A will require 24/5 days to eat the remaining candies.
