Answer:

A's one day work is 1/12

B's one day work is 1/20

(A+B)'s 1 days work is 1/12+1/20=2/15

B works for 12 days

B's 12 days work is 12*1/20=3/5 days

Remaining work is 1–3/5=2/5

Now 2/5 th of the work is done by A In SOME days

before leaving ,means A and B have worked together for some days and then B continued for 12 days and completed in one day together they finish 2/15th work

So in X days remaing work 2/5 is finished

So X is( 2/5 )÷(2/15)= 3 days

Therefore A worked for 3 days before leaving

Hope it helps

Thanks
