4/15 A =2/5 B

A=(25144)B
A=3/2B
A/B=3/2
A:B=3:2

B's Share = 25∗1210=484

harishrr: sorry i made a small mistake
harishrr: in the second step it is
harishrr: A = (2/5 ) * ( 15/ 4) B
harishrr: while writing i missed the slash :|

Solution -

This numerical solved by two methods....one is by ration proportion and other is by linear equation

1. By ratio proportion...

Given-

(4/15) a = (2/5) b

a = (2/5) * (15/4) b

a/b = 3/2

a:b = 3:2

a's share = (a/a+b) * Total amount = (3/3+2) * 1210 = (3/5) * 1210 = 726

b's share = (b/a+b) * Total amount = (2/3+2) * 1210 = (2/5) * 1210  = 484

Answer - b is having amount of Rs 484

2. By linear equation...

Let us assume a is having amount of Rs. x and b is having amount Rs y

Given -

x + y = 1210 -------------1

also given -

(4/15)x = (2/5)y

x = (15/4)(2/5)y = (3/2)y ------------2

Substitute the value of x in equation 1

(3/2)y + y = 1210

(5/2)y = 1210

y = 1210 * 2/5 = Rs 484

x = (3/2)y = (3/2) * 484 = Rs 726.

Answer - The b is having amount of Rs 484.
