circumference is 35 kms. They start from the same
point in the same direction. The speed of A is 4 kmph.
and that of B is 5 kmph. After what time will they be
together again at the starting point?

After 35 hours they will be together again at the starting point.

Step-by-step explanation:

Required Formula:

  • Time = Distance/Speed

The circumference of a circular path = Distance covered by A and B = 35 km

Speed of A = 4 km/hr

Speed of B = 5 km/hr

Therefore,

The time taken to complete the revolution by A = [35/4] hr

And,

The time taken to complete the revolution by B = [35/5] hr

We know that in order to find the time they will be together again at the starting point, we need to calculate the L.C.M. of the time taken by A and B to complete 1 revolution of the circular path.

Therefore,

The required time is,

= LCM of [(35/4), (35/5)]

= [L.C.M. of the numerators] / [H.C.F of the denominators]

= [35] / [1]

= 35 hours

Thus, A & B will meet again after 35 hours at the starting point.
