Given:
- A & B are partners in a firm
- C joins the firm
- A’s share will be half of B’s and C’s Share will be 1/3rd of A’s
As the existing ratio is not given, we will take the existing ratio as 1:1, as per the principles.
So A’s Ratio is ½ and B’s Ratio is ½
To find:
New Ratio
Solution:
A’s Share = ½ of B’s share
= ½ of ½
=¼
B’s Share = ½
As its unchanged
C’s Share = ⅓ of A’s Share
= ⅓ of ¼ , i.e. ⅓ * ¼
= 1/12
So A’s share = 3/12
B’s Share = 6/12
C’s Share = 1/12
