Step-by-step explanation:

A can do in 1 day = 1/16 of the work.

B can do in one day = 1/24 of the work.

A can do in 6 days = 1/16 * 6 = 3/8 of the work.

B can do in 6 days = 1/24 * 6 = 1/4 of the work.

Total work done by them in 6 days = 3/8 + 1/4 = 5/8 of the work.

Work left = 1 - 5/8 = 3/8 of the work.

No. of days B will take to complete the left work = Left work / B's one day work

= 3/8/1/24 = 9 days
