A and b working together can complete a work in 12 days. they work together for 9 days after which b leaves . if a finishes the remaining work in another 5 days, then find the number of days that b alone would take to complete the work.

Answer :-

we have,

→ (A + B) one day work = (1/12)

so,

→ In 9 day they did work = 9 * (1/12) = (3/4) unit of work .

then,

→ Left work to be done by A = 1 - (3/4) = (1/4) unit .

now, given that, A finish remaining work in 5 days.

so,

→ A finish (1/4) work in = 5 days.

→ A will finish 1 work in = 5 * 4 = 20 days.

therefore,

→ Time taken by B alone to complete the work = (1/12) - (1/20) = (5 - 3)/60 = (2/60) = (1/30) = 30 days (Ans.)
