1. The passage states that parents and teachers, both, want children to learn qualities like hard work, honesty, commitment and compassion.

2. The consequences of overindulging kids aren't pretty. Research shows that overindulgence leads to self-centeredness, greed, and unwillingness to be held accountable for actions, to name just a few of the unpleasant traits seen in children and adults who got too much, too often

3. The passage explains that children of the present want more because of increasing desire. Their priorities lie in gaining luxury (such as MP3 players and flat-screen TVs) which they try to acquire through complete manipulation and strategy.

4. parents need to have a balance between the advantages of an affluent society and the critical life lessons that come from waiting, saving and working hard to achieve goals. That search for balance has to start early. Children need limits on their behaviour because they feel better and more secure when they live within a secured structure.

5. Too much time with technology causes children to not get enough exercise. Lack of exercise is not only bad for their bodies, but it also hurts how their brains function and develop. In fact, more exercise and less use of tech devices can help improve grades and reduce behavior problems.

hope this helps
