On Land:
On land, frogs breathe only through the lungs as the air reaches the buccal cavity through the nostrils and then through the lungs. Therefore, until they reach maturity the frog (on land) breathes through the lungs.
In water:
In water, frogs breathe through their skin. They need to keep their skin moist to be able to breathe through their skin, so if their skin dries out they are not able to absorb oxygen. They use their skin to absorb oxygen when underwater.
