  1. Environment means anything that surround us. It can be living (biotic) or non-living (abiotic) things.
  2. The basic components of the environment are atmosphere or the air, lithosphere or the rocks and soil, hydrosphere or the water, and the living component of the environment or the biosphere.( write any two from this)

    4. The earth is surrounded by an envelope of air called the atmosphere.

    5. The biosphere is a narrow zone of the earth where land, water, air

         interact with each other to support life. It is in this zone that life exists

     6. The term biodiversity (from “biological diversity”) refers to the variety

        of  

          life on Earth at all its levels, from genes to ecosystems, and can  

         encompass the evolutionary, ecological, and cultural processes that

         sustain life.

       7. Pollution is the introduction of harmful materials into the

           environment.

          These harmful materials are called pollutants. Pollutants can be

           natural,  

           such as volcanic ash.

        8.  We need to handle waste carefully because wastes can be

          hazardous and can contaminate the environment if not handled  

         properly.

        9.  Deforestation, the clearing or thinning of forests by humans.

       10. Sustainable development is defined as an approach to developing

             or growing by using resources in a way that allows for them to

             renew or continue to exist for others. Using recycled materials or  

             renewable resources when building is an example of sustainable

             development.
