Answer:

4)  Many things like fuel are obtained from mineral resources, all the metals are also obtained from mineral resources. Mineral ores are non renewable and their formation is very slow its takes thousands of years. so, we need to conserve Mineral Resources.

5)  Ferrous minerals are very important because they account for about three-fourth of the total value of the production of metallic minerals. They provide a strong base for the development of metallurgical industries. India also exports substantial quantities of ferrous minerals after meeting the internal demands.

6)  Nuclear energy or Atomic energy originates from the splitting of uranium atoms – a process called fission. This generates heat to produce steam, which is used by a turbine generator to generate electricity. Because nuclear power plants do not burn fuel, they do not produce greenhouse gas emissions.

7)  Characteristics of Mica are -

(i) It is a mineral made up of a series of plates or leaves.

(ii) It splits easily into thin sheets.

(iii) These sheets can be so thin that a thousand plates can be layered into a mica sheet of a few centimeters high.

(iv) Due to its excellent di-electric strength, low power loss factor, insulating properties and resistance to high voltage, mica is one of the most indispensable minerals used in electric and electronic industries.
