1) the turkish invasion this was one of the first foreign invasions spearheaded by Mahmud of Ghazni. This empire ruled the modern day Delhi region. 2) the Chola empire was another important dynasty. They ruled over the entire south Indian region.

Following Harsha's death, the Rajput dynasty that rose to prominence was the Gurjara Pratihara dynasty.

Krishna I (reigned c. 756–773), built the rock temple of Kailasa at Ellora (designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983); another king, Amoghavarsha I, who reigned from about 814 to 878, was the author of part of the Kavirajamarga, the earliest known Kannada poem.
6)In 925, his son Parantaka I conquered Sri Lanka (known as Ilangai). Parantaka I also defeated the Rashtrakuta dynasty under Krishna II in the battle of Vallala.
7)Rajendra Chola
The successful invasions of Rajendra Chola were applauded by several medieval Tamil poets like Jayamkondan in his text Kalingattupparani and Ottakkoothar in his text Ula. After his successful campaign to Ganges river in north India he got the title Gangaikonda Chola (The Chola who took the Ganges river).
