Answers
Explanation:
when I went to visit my detective friend, Sherlock Holmes. The walk was quite short, and I was soon at Baker Street.
As I walked through the door, I saw that Holmes had a visitor. The visitor was a large older man with hair as red as fire.
‘You are just in time Watson,’ said Holmes. ‘This is Mr Wilson. He has been telling me about some unusual events. His story is very interesting.’
Holmes turned back to his visitor, ‘Please Mr Wilson, do start again and tell my friend Watson your story.’
Before the red-haired man began to tell his story, he pulled a newspaper from his coat pocket. As he looked the newspaper, I looked at him carefully. I tried to guess things about him, the way my detective friend always did.
Holmes could see what I was doing. He looked at me and said, ‘Watson, I see nothing either. Except of course that our Mr Wilson has worked as a labourer, that he has visited China, and that he has been writing a lot recently.’
