Given a circular trace of 400m. Anuj and Amit started  running on a circular trace of 400m with a speed of 5km/hr and 8 km/hr from the same point in same direction. we have to find out the time after which they will meet at starting point.

First we calculate the time which anuj and amit take to complete one round  can be caculated as

Time taken by anuj =\frac{Distance}{Speed}

                                = \frac{400}{\frac{8\times 1000}{3600}} =180sec

Time taken by amit =\frac{Distance}{Speed}

                                = \frac{400}{\frac{5\times 1000}{3600}} =288sec

To find the time after which both meet on stating point we have to take the LCM of these two i.e LCM(180,288) = 1440 sec

Therefore, after 1440 sec i.e \frac{1440}{60} sec=24 min they will meet at starting point.
