See...it is a part of quantum physics.
So, the quantum theory says that each particle has a wave nature too. In daily life, which is on a large scale, we don't notice it but it is apparent at atomic and subatomic levels.
So, according to Heisenberg's Equation, the more accurately we measure a particle's speed, the less accurately we can measure the position. Since we can measure an atom's speed quite accurately, we cannot measure it's position. Therefore an atom can be at different places at the same time i.e it has a probability of being at different places.
