Speed = Total distance travelled / Total time taken
= 24 / 2
= 12 km/h
Now , the speed is increased by 4 km/h . Therefore the total speed in the given case is 12 + 4 = 16 km/h
Time taken to cover the same distance with the new speed = 24 / 16
= 6 / 4
= 3 / 2
= 1.5 hrs

Answer:

given \\ time \: taken = 24km \\ therefore \: speed = \frac{24}{2} = 12km \: per \: hour \\ if \: the \: speed \: is \: increased \: by \: 4km \: per \: hour \: \\ the \: new \: speed \: will \: be \: 12 + 4 = 16km \: per \: hr \\ thus \: distance \: covered \: = 24km \\ speed = 16km \: per \: hour \\ time = \frac{distance}{speed} \\ = \frac{24}{16} = 1.5 \: hr \: is \: answer
