The solution of the given system is a=7 , b= 9 , c=19 , d=7 .

Explanation:

Given equations :

a+b=16                (1)

a+c=26               (2)

b+d=16               (3)

c-d=12                (4)

From (1) and (3) , we ahve

a+b=b+d\Rightarrow\ a=d

Put d=a in (4) , we get

c-a=12                   (5)

Now , add (2) and (5) , we get

2c=38\Rightarrow\ c=\dfrac{38}{2}=19

From (2) , a+19=26\Rightarrow\ a=26-19=7

So , a= d= 7

Put value of a in (1) , we get

7+b=16\Rightarrow\ b=16-7=9

Hence,  a=7 , b= 9 , c=19 , d=7
