Given:

( a + b )² - a² + b²

To find:

The value of ( a + b )² - a² + b²

Solution:

( a + b )² - a² + b²

We know that,

( a + b )² = a² + 2ab + b²

Therefore,

a² + 2ab + b² - a² + b²

2ab + 2b² ( +a² and -a² will get cancelled)

Further,

We can take 2b as common.

2b ( a + b )

Conclusion:

Therefore, ( a + b )² - a² + b² = 2ab + 2b² = 2b ( a + b )
