We know (a-b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 -2ab

Therefore ( ¼ a - ½ b )² = ( 1/16 a^2 + 1/4 b^2 - 1/4ab (Answer)

((a/4) - (b/4) + 1)²

= (a/4)²+(-b/2)²+1²+ 2 × (a/4) (-b/2) +

2(-b/2) x1+2x1x (a/4)

=(a²/16)+(b²/4)+1-(ab/2)-b+ ( a/2)
