Let, a be 3x and b be 4x.

So, a - b = 5

3x - 4x = 5

3x - 4x = 5

-x = 5

x = -5

So, the value of a and b are-

a = 3x = 3×(-5) = -15

b = 4x = 4×(-5) = -20

Now, a+2b

= -15 + 2 × (-20)

= -15 + (-40)

= -15 - 40

= -55

Thus, a+2b = -55 .
