EXPLANATION.

⇒ A + B = 30. - - - - - (1).

⇒ B + C = 50. - - - - - (2).

⇒ A + C = 40. - - - - - (3).

As we know that,

Subtracting equation (1) and (2), we get.

⇒ A + B = 30. - - - - - (1).

⇒ B + C = 50. - - - - - (2).

⇒ -   -       -

We get,

⇒ A - C = - 20. - - - - - (4).

Now, adding equation (3) and (4), we get.

⇒ A + C = 40. - - - - - (3).

⇒ A - C = - 20. - - - - - (4).

We get,

⇒ 2A = 20.

⇒ A = 10.

put the value of A = 20 in equation (1), we get.

⇒ A + B = 30.

⇒ 10 + B = 30.

⇒ B = 30 - 10.

⇒ B = 20.

put the value of B = 20 in equation (2), we get.

⇒ B + C = 50.

⇒ 20 + C = 50.

⇒ C = 50 - 20.

⇒ C = 30.

Values of A = 10, B = 20 and C = 30.
