~ Math

a + b = 6

a = 6 - b

substitute the value of a = 6 - b into the second equation !

a . b = 4

(6 - b) . b = 4

6b - b² = 4

b² - 6b + 4 = 0

Use this form :

X_{(1,2)} =  \frac{ - b± \sqrt{ {b}^{2} - 4ac } }{2a}  \\  X_{(1,2)}=  \frac{6± \sqrt{36 - 16} }{2}  \\  X_{(1,2)}=  \frac{6±2 \sqrt{5} }{2}  \\  X_{(1,2)}= 3± \sqrt{5}

  • if b = 3 - √5

a = 6 - ( 3 - √5 )

a = 3 + √5

  • if b = 3 + √5

a = 6 - ( 3 + √5 )

a = 3 - √5

Hope it can help you !
