(a + b)(a - b) =  {a}^{2}  -  {b}^{2}

Proof:

(a + b)(a - b)

 = a(a - b) + b(a - b)

 =  {a}^{2}  - ab + ba -  {b}^{2}

 =  {a}^{2}  -  {b}^{2}

(ab = ba)
