If we have to multiply two binomial we use monomial * binomial then the other monomial * binomial like

(x+ y) * (l+m) = x(l+m) + y (l+m)

=xl +xm +ym+yl

So in that way we multiply

a+b * a -b = a( a-b ) +b ( a- b )

= a∧2 -ab +ba -b∧2

Where ab &ba are same and both have different signs so we cancel them .

Therefore a +b * a-b = a∧2 - b∧2

So that not do long multiplication we have just subtract their square which is a identity
