Solution :-
Let us assume that, expenditure of A, B and C are 16x , 12x and 9x respectively .
since their savings are 20% , 25% and 40% of their income . so, they must spend 80%, 75% and 60% each .
then,
→ 16x of A's income = 80%
→ A's income = (16/80) * 100 = 20x
and,
→ 12x of B's income = 75%
→ B's income = (12/75) * 100 = 16x
and,
→ 9x of C's income = 60%
→ C's income = (9/60) * 100 = 15x
therefore,
→ A's income + B's income + C's income = Total income
→ 20x + 16x + 15x = 15300
→ 51x = 15300
→ x = 15300/51
→ x = 300
hence,
→ Salary of B = 16x = 16 * 300 = Rs.4800 (Ans.)
