A, B & C form a triangle where

BAC = 90°.
AB = 13.9 mm and CA = 8.8 mm.
Find the length of BC, giving your answer rounded to 1 DP Urgently answer!!

1) As the given triangle is the right angle triangle then we will apply the pythagoras theorem to find the third side as the triangle given in the question the perpendicular is AB, Base is CA and hypotenuse is BC.

2) The Pythagoras theorem of the right angle triangle is

  • P²+B²=H²
  • (AB)²+(CA)²=(BC)²
  • (BC)²=(13.9)²+(8.8)²
  • (BC)²=193.21+77.44
  • (BC)²= 270.65
  • BC= 16.45

The length of BC is 16.5 mm.
