Given :-

  • A, B and C are in the same town.
  • A sells an article to B for Rs 50000.
  • B sells the same to C at a profit of Rs 6000.
  • G.S.T is 12%.

To Find :-

  • SGST paid by B.
  • Total tax received by the central government (CGST).
  • How much does C pay for the article ?

Solution :-

→ SP of article by A = Rs. 50,000

→ CGST = 6% of 50,000 = (50000 * 6)/100 = Rs.3000 .

SGST = 6% of 50,000 = (50000 * 6)/100 = Rs.3000 .

Now,

→ CP of article for B = Rs. 50,000

→ profit = Rs. 6000.

So,

→ SP of article by B = 50,000 + 6000 = Rs. 56,000. { SP = CP + Profit.}

Now the same article is moved B to C and the rate of tax is 12% .

Therefore,

→ SGST Paid by B = 6% of 56,000 = (56000 * 6)/100 = Rs.3360 . (Ans.)

CGST = 6% of 56,000 = (56000 * 6)/100 = Rs.3360 .

And,

→ CP of C = SP of B = Rs.56,000. (Ans.)

Hence,

Total CGST = 3000 + 3360 = Rs.6360 (Ans.)
