Answer:

P(A)+P(B)+P(C)=1 as total probability should be equal to one for an random experiment

P(B)=1-P(A)-P(C)

P(B) =1-0.24-0.621 = 0.139

Therefore, P(B)=0.139

Given :- A,B and C are the events in a randam experiment .find P(B) if P(A) =0.621 and P(C) =0.24 ?

Solution :-

since, A,B and C are the events in a randam experiment ,

  • p(A) + p(B) + p(C) = 1 .

given that,

→ p(A) = 0.621

→ p(C) = 0.24 .

putting both values we get,

→ p(A) + p(B) + p(C) = 1

→ 0.621 + p(B) + 0.24 = 1

→ 0.861 + p(B) = 1

→ p(B) = 1 - 0.861

→ p(B) = 0.139 (Ans.)
