1/40+1/30+c=1/10
c=1/10-1/40-1/30
c=(12-3-4)/120
c=5/120=1/24
c alone is 24 days

A alone takes 12 days to complete the work= x
A alone takes 1 day to complete the work = x/12
Now
work done by B alone in one day is
x/4 - x/12 = 3x -x /12
therefore 1/6x
∴ work done by B alone in 6 days= 1/6x ×6
= x
Hence it will take 6 days by B alone to complete the same
