Answer:

ans : 6 days

Step-by-step explanation:

given a = 1/12 , b = 1/24 and c = 1/8 , to find the work done by a,b and c.

given a,b and c work for 3 days so,take as (a+b+c)*3=( 1/12+1/24+1/8)*3

   take LCM for 12,24 and 8 then denominator will be 24.

1/12+1/24+1/8 = 2+1+3/24 = 6/24 = 1/4

so 1/4 of the work done by a,b and c.  remaining work done by a and b will be = 1- 1/4

= 4-1/4

= 3/4 of the work done by a and b . given that c leaves ,so remaining only a and b ,     (a+b)*x =  3/4

=> (1/12+ 1/24 )*x = 3/4  take LCM for 12,24 ,denominator will be 24

=> 3/24*x = 3/4  => 3*x = 24*3/4     => 3*x = 18 then x= 6 i.e ans will be 6 days.
