Required Answer:-

Given:

  • A, B and C can do one work in 10 days.
  • B and C can do one work in 15 days.

To find:

  • Time taken by A to do the work alone.

Solution:

Let total work be 1.

A, B and C can do one work in 10 days.

➡ One day work of A, B and C will be = 1/10

B and C can do one work in 15 days.

➡ One day work of B and C = 1/15

So,

➡ One day work of A = (One day work of A, B and C) - (One day work of B and C)

= 1/10 - 1/15

= (3 - 2)/30

= 1/30

So, time taken by A to complete the work alone,

= 1 ÷ 1/30

= 30 days.

Hence, A alone completes the work in 30 days.

Answer:

  • A alone completes the work in 30 days.
