A,B and C run around a Circular track starting from the same point simultaneously and in the same direction at the speed of 8 kmph, 12 kmph and 16
kmph respectively. If the length of the track is 800 metre. when will A, B and C meet at the starting point for the first time after they start the race?

Answer:

Distance=time *speed they meet 50s at the same time

Step-by-step explanation:

then time =Distance/speed

1st= 800/8=100s

2nd=800/12=66.7s

3rd=800/16=50s

After 12 minutes they will meet at the starting point for the first time after they start the race.

Step-by-step explanation:

A runs around the circular track at speed of 8 kmph. If the circular track is 800 meters in length i.e. 0.8 km, then he will take \frac{0.8}{8} = 0.1 hours = 6 minutes to cover it.

B runs around the circular track at speed of 12 kmph. If the circular track is 800 meters in length i.e. 0.8 km, then he will take \frac{0.8}{12} \times 60 = 4 minutes to cover it.

Again, C runs around the circular track at speed of 16 kmph. If the circular track is 800 meters in length i.e. 0.8 km, then he will take \frac{0.8}{16} \times 60 = 3 minutes to cover it.

Therefore, after x minutes which is the least common multiple of 6 minutes, 4 minutes and 3 minutes i.e. 12 minutes they will meet at the starting point for the first time after they start the race. (Answer)
